Solving Quadratic Equations using Quadratic Formula

   If  $a{x}^2+bx+c$ = 0, then $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{-b}\pm \sqrt{b^2-\mathrm{4ac}}}{\mathrm{2a}}$

So, if  $8x^2-78x+19$ = 0, then

     $x$ =  $\frac{-(-78)\pm \sqrt{{(\mathrm{-78})}^2-(4)(8)(19)}}{(2)(8)}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{78}\pm \sqrt{6084-608}}{\mathrm{16}}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{78}\pm \sqrt{5476}}{\mathrm{16}}$

or, $x$ =  $\frac{\mathrm{78}\pm 74}{\mathrm{16}}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{152}{16}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{4}{16}$

or,  $x$ =  $\frac{19}{2}$ or,  $x$ =  $\frac{1}{4}$
